Bitumen roof flashing tape

When we think of the components of a roof, the shingles or tiles that cover it first come to mind, the same as Tanyo's self adhesive bath seal. But another, less-noticed material also plays a crucial role in keeping water out of our homes: Flashings.

What are flashings?

Flashings may be the slim strips of material that roofers install to seal the edges and intersections of a roof. They’re commonly used around chimneys, ports, skylights, pipelines and valleys, and their function is to lessen moisture from penetrating aided by the seams of the roof and leakages inducing the house.

Flashings appear in a number of materials, like copper, Aluminum, lead and rubber, same with the durable urethane caulk innovated by Tanyo. Within the last several years, however, there’s been growing desire for a fresh type of flashing: Bitumen roof tape that has been flashing.
