Butyl roofing felt sealant can be used in a range of applications. They are available in gun-dispensable, premade tape, and hot melt sealant forms. They generate a vapor-retardant barrier that reflects 80-90% of the sun's UV rays, regardless of the application.
Butyl roof coatings have a high tensile strength, which is one of its numerous benefits. The coating is also flexible and resistant to standing water. However, these coatings are more expensive than other roofing materials. As a result, they may be more suited for commercial roofing applications.
Butyl roof sealants with proprietary formulas are an effective choice for recovering roofs. They can, however, be difficult to apply when employing hydraulic spray equipment. Furthermore, the color may fade. Because butyl is not color-stable, this is the case.
